When they built the MAC they incorporated as many windows as possible so that for much of the year they don’t have to even turn on any lights at all because of the natural light coming in for all angles.
The lighting system in place, when they are used, is a high-pressure lighting system with compact fluorescent bulbs in can lights.
They built the MAC with zone heating with all systems on set points (68-72 degrees) so that they entire building is not always heated.
The HVAC goes through recalibration or known as prevented maintenance annually to cut down on wasted energy through the heating and cooling vents. Allowing the MAC to save the entity 15-20 percent in savings.
All the restrooms have auto flushers and water faucets to reduce the water waste of the building.
