The Green and Growing: Governor's Earth Day Celebration is the start of a new springtime family tradition. If you're between the ages of 5 and 8, you and your parents or guardians are invited to join the Governor and First Lady Jessica Doyle at the Executive Residence in Madison for some Earth Day fun. You can play recycle toss, enter a globe race, make buttons and join in other activities.
Parents or guardians, sign your child up now! Participation is limited to the first 400 children who register. Limit of two guests/child.
If you have more than one child participating, you must complete a separate registration form.

South Milwaukee will hold a cleanup day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 19 in celebration of Earth Day.
Pick up bags at City Hall, 16th and Rawson avenues, the intersection of Oak Creek Parkway and north Chicago Avenue or the South Milwaukee Fire Department.
Call the clerk's office at (414) 762-2222 to register.
Lunch will be served to all volunteers at the South Milwaukee Senior Center following the cleanup.

Collection events will take place anytime between April 19-27. The EPA Great Lakes office has created the 2008 Earth Day Challenge with a goal of recycling one million pounds of electronics and one million pounds of pharmaceuticals in states that border the Great Lakes.

The Great American Cleanup is a Nationwide Program that encourages you to get involved in your own community. Millions of volunteers clean and beautify their community as part of hte Great American Cleanup each spring. The Great American Cleanup is the nation's largest organized annual cleanup, beautification, and community improvement program. Last year, more than 45,000 volunteers participated in the Great American Cleanup in the Milwaukee area alone. The GAC begins on March 1st and runs until May 31st. Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful will host this year's cleanup program in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington counties. You can join an existing cleanup or organize your own.
